Goal of Program: The Missionary Team program is a one year program (renewable) from August to June for single 18 year olds (that are out of high school) and older. The year is designed to help promote faith in the youth of all the parishes in the Dioceses of Amarillo and surrounding areas. This includes helping in the needs of Diocesan events (not youth related), retreats, youth conference, nights of worship, teen nights, leadership development. works of mercy, ministry fundraising, evangelization and other activities that parishes may ask for. However if needed, when not putting on any of these events above the team members will be appointed to a local parish to help local parishes with youth ministry programs. Covenant Teen Administrator position will be considered as one of the assignments according to personal baptismal gifts.
Area of Service: Dioceses of Amarillo and surrounding areas (approximately 5 hours from Amarillo)
Length of Service: One year, and renewable. Serving all but one week-end out of the month for personal time. Serving usually starting Friday at noon to Sunday late nights.
Requirements: Seeking 18 years old and older young adults and adults. He/she should love working with teens (grades 6th-12th). Should be in communion with the Catholic Church and be within the guidelines of the Diocesan guidelines (Safe Environment Training).
Financial Benefits (no lodging required): $200.00 monthly within the missionary work (example stipend from retreats or works of mercy). Missionary travel will be taken care of - such as gas and sometimes transportation included for some activities.
Financial Requirements: Need own insurance and must have own transportation.
Size of Program: 2 to 4 volunteers
Training: Orientation Program and leadership training, on-going formation, in-site training, Safe Environment training and basic retreat training skills will be provided.
